New Staff & Changing Roles

As follow-up to our previous announcement regarding the Network’s expansion into Kitsap County and providing support for all Western Washington coalitions, we’re excited to announce the addition of staff and changing roles to ensure continuity, successful integration and coordination of our coalition efforts.

Elya Baltazar will fill the new role of Kitsap County Coalition Liaison. Elya joins us from the Kitsap Public Health Districts’ Emergency Preparedness and Response Department, where she created and taught preparedness curriculums, chaired the local healthcare coalition, and bolstered emergency plans and procedures for her facility and community. At the Network, she’ll continue her passion for bringing together her medical background and her training in disaster and emergency management to help build Kitsap County’s healthcare community emergency preparedness.

Scott Foster, CHSP, returns to the Network to fill the new role of Western Washington Information Management Support Coordinator, providing information and communications support for Western Washington agencies as a statewide System Administrator of WATrac and the WA SECURES Health Alert Network. Scott, who served as the Network’s Operations Readiness Manager in 2012, worked for Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for seven years as the Medical Resource and Technology Development Coordinator providing emergency equipment and information management coordination.

Rebecca Lis, MPH, will move into the new role of Western Washington Planning Support Coordinator where she will focus on patient movement and response coordination across Western Washington’s healthcare coalitions. Rebecca, a six year veteran of the Network, previously served as Special Project Manager.

Aaron Resnick, MA, will oversee the local coalition’s preparedness efforts, as well as focusing on specific regional and state-wide projects such as healthcare acute infectious disease sustainment and hospital surge capacity. Aaron’s been with the Network for nearly three years and will retain the title of Planning and Preparedness Manager.
